ABOUT

The Detroit Parks Coalition (DPC) was formed in June of 2010 in response to the announcement that Detroit may close 77 parks in the city.  DPC feels that not only do parks add value to neighborhoods but they reduce crime and maximize the recreational opportunities that we have here in Detroit.  As we move towards a critical point in Detroit where residents need to be engaged and communities help take ownership of their neighborhoods.  DPC will be there to make sure the green space needs of the community are met and that green space continues to be one of the city’s greatest assets for years to come!
